Rachelle + Len :: Cenote (Cancun, Mexico) Part III of III

We love destination weddings!  The couples are relaxed and enjoying themselves because they’re on holiday and the guests create this fantastic intimate and loving group.  Best of all, we can do creatives the day after so the couple can simply enjoy time with their guests on their wedding day.  Len + Rachelle were absolute stars with this creative shoot – they stretched muscles they didn’t know they had (sorry about that!) and rocked the Mexican town.  If there was ever a doubt about you two being model material, that’s now unquestionable – high fives all around!

Len + Rachelle love to travel and so we took them on a little day trip into the Mexican jungle to swim in an underground Cenote.  Fish swam around them in the crystal clear water and the light filtering in from above ground gives these natural sinkholes a gorgeous glow and made Len + Rachelle absolutely radiant.

Edmonton Wedding PhotographerWe were told by local scuba divers that the Cenote was 30 meters deep, and to our surprise, Len chuckled that he does not know how to swim. =) Luckily, we brought many make-shift flotation devices with us to keep them from drinking too much water. Here’s Len and Rachelle looking like they are on an episode of Survivor treading through the underground caverns.Edmonton Wedding PhotographersEdmonton Wedding PhotographyThis is one of the most physically and mentally demanding shot we have ever pulled on our couples. No life-vests, frigid waters, underground current, can’t swim, while trying to look GQ with spiders crawling down Len’s arm from the tree roots. =) Behind the lens, we had to tread water while shooting with 10 pounds of unprotected camera equipment at the same time while triggering off-camera lighting to create the ambiance. From Cenote to Town, the bridal couple were greeted like stars as locals & tourists alike clapped, cheered and took photos with them!

Rachelle didn’t think Len was much of a hat person, and we think Len agrees. =)Edmonton Wedding PhotographerEdmonton Wedding PhotographyEdmonton Wedding PhotographersKeeping the heat on were street performers who paid tribute to the newly married couple with a fire show.Edmonton Wedding PhotographerTo cool off, Len + Rachelle played in the water at the end of the day.  Len, ever the loveable goofball and Rachelle, ever in love with her goofball, has a quick smile and laugh for all of his antics.Edmonton Wedding PhotographyEdmonton Wedding Photographer

Len + Rachelle – this wedding was made all the more fabulous by your goofy & quirky personalities.  We loved getting to know you more and love that in you we have found personality twins!  We hope your marriage is filled with special moments like the ones we shared with you doing the creative shots.

Happy travels from one globetrotting duo to another!
