We’re delighted to be back home to capture Erika’s and Christopher’s rustic Canmore Wedding. Absolute fun hanging out with your crew and staying warm with team huddles (plus blankets).
Much love,

Love is the answer
At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?
… I’ll tell you one thing, its always better when we’re together

One week in Edmonton. Rhiannon received her Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting, from the University of Alberta. Paul received her hand in marriage. Not too shabby! Rhiannon + Paul’s wedding brought them back home from Hawaii, where Paul manages pumps for a local firm.
When day to day life includes living near a beach in Hawaii, where hobbies are snorkeling, jet skiing and kayaking, not to mention hanging out with the dolphins in the early hours of the day, the wedding has to be a fairy tale really, doesn’t it?
Rhiannon and Paul brought the beautiful weather of the South Pacific with them to Edmonton for their fairy tale wedding at the Hotel MacDonald.  The wedding car? A limo. The reception? Mayfair Golf & Country Club. What really made this a fairy tale come true though was Rhiannon, looking like a Princess Bride, marrying her Prince Charming after a courtship that has taken them from Edmonton to Hawaii and back again. Paul may be able to jump off high cliffs into the ocean without a blink, but the sight of his beautiful bride brought tears to his eyes.
Edmonton’s hot dry heat was a bit of a change from the humidity of Hawaii, but everyone was incredible when it came to celebrating the bride & groom’s love of each other and the outdoors by shooting outside. How incredible? Ice creams all around (even for us!) after a day spent in the park.
The Mayfair Golf & Country Club blossomed, the perfectly appointed buds providing beautiful detail and accents. The wedding favours were adorable as well!
Rhiannon + Paul, a huge thank you for having us as part of your wedding day, it was absolutely gorgeous! It was a blast hanging out with you & your bridal party – you guys are awesome! Have a fabulous trip back to Hawaii, where we can’t help but think, is the perfect location for happily ever after.
Best wishes for your fairy tale. We would love to be heading to Hawaii with you, let us know if we can fit in a suitcase!
Much love,
A + R

We are incredibly honoured to be featured on Jennifer Bergman’s fantastic wedding blog this week. We had a blast working with Jenn at the Jasper Park Lodge & were blown away by the event she put together.
Jenn’s blog is a great source of information for weddings in Alberta.
We love destination weddings! Â The couples are relaxed and enjoying themselves because they’re on holiday and the guests create this fantastic intimate and loving group. Â Best of all, we can do creatives the day after so the couple can simply enjoy time with their guests on their wedding day. Â Len + Rachelle were absolute stars with this creative shoot – they stretched muscles they didn’t know they had (sorry about that!) and rocked the Mexican town. Â If there was ever a doubt about you two being model material, that’s now unquestionable – high fives all around!
Len + Rachelle love to travel and so we took them on a little day trip into the Mexican jungle to swim in an underground Cenote. Â Fish swam around them in the crystal clear water and the light filtering in from above ground gives these natural sinkholes a gorgeous glow and made Len + Rachelle absolutely radiant.
We were told by local scuba divers that the Cenote was 30 meters deep, and to our surprise, Len chuckled that he does not know how to swim. =) Luckily, we brought many make-shift flotation devices with us to keep them from drinking too much water. Here’s Len and Rachelle looking like they are on an episode of Survivor treading through the underground caverns.
This is one of the most physically and mentally demanding shot we have ever pulled on our couples. No life-vests, frigid waters, underground current, can’t swim, while trying to look GQ with spiders crawling down Len’s arm from the tree roots. =) Behind the lens, we had to tread water while shooting with 10 pounds of unprotected camera equipment at the same time while triggering off-camera lighting to create the ambiance.
From Cenote to Town, the bridal couple were greeted like stars as locals & tourists alike clapped, cheered and took photos with them!
The combination of cobblestone & Louboutin stilettos wasn’t going to stop Rachelle from dancing with Len either.
If that wasn’t hot enough, these two food lovers got a taste or Mexican street food, including authentic hot sauce, which was just a bit too hot to handle for them.
After warming up our tummies, Len and Rachelle hit the local street vendors to shop for gifts for family and friends back home. Rachelle didn’t think Len was much of a hat person, and we think Len agrees. =)
Keeping the heat on were street performers who paid tribute to the newly married couple with a fire show.
To cool off, Len + Rachelle played in the water at the end of the day. Â Len, ever the loveable goofball and Rachelle, ever in love with her goofball, has a quick smile and laugh for all of his antics.
Len + Rachelle – this wedding was made all the more fabulous by your goofy & quirky personalities. Â We loved getting to know you more and love that in you we have found personality twins! Â We hope your marriage is filled with special moments like the ones we shared with you doing the creative shots.
Happy travels from one globetrotting duo to another!
