Love, love, love how destination weddings = a day or two after for creatives with the newlyweds!Â We had a blast with Anita + Jesse’s entourage (a.k.a members of the bridal party) as we went to Hard Rock Resort & Casino and the local market for days 1 & 2 of the creatives.Â Our original plan for the market was put on hold by more thunderstorms but we found a luxe locale and spot of sunshine.

Lifeguards warned us off the beach as thunderstorms were, yet again, approaching.Â Much toÂ Jesse’s dismay neither of us were prepared to dive in after himÂ so he couldn’t play in the crashing waves.Â Sorry Jesse, Rina’s had just 1 too many instances of losing her shorts in calmer waters!

Day 2 we went to the local market with bodyguards Ray & Colin to keep the vendors at bay.Â Anita got her groove on and danced in the streets, much to everyone’s delight as tourists and vendors who cheered from the stalls.Â She also found a shawl in the same colour as the bridesmaids’ dresses and we all chipped in so she could have a souvenir of her Dominican wedding.

Anita bought her dress in China and never had any intention of taking it home with her, even though her mother-in-law was quite keen for her to have it for the Edmonton reception (although we all joked it was for Jesse’s sister Marianne to have for her wedding day).Â Instead, Anita wanted her dress to give someone else’s love story a stylish flourish who otherwise may not be able to afford it.Â A pregnant vendor asked Anita for the dress as she was hoping to get married after the baby was born.Â Anita was super happy that her dress would give another girl the opportunity to have a beautiful wedding and traded the dress from some jewellery and a sundress (well she couldn’t exactly walk around nude!)

Thank you Anita + Jesse for having us out to your wonderful and crazy wedding.Â Your friends and family were awesome and we got a chance to hang out with everyone, seeing some old pals and meeting some new friends. Your free spirited personalities go soooo well with us!

We are happy to be featured again byÂ Melissa from Wedding Obsession.Â This is the second part of Ken + Lisa’s Engagement Series featuring their favourite movies and TV show influences. Lisa is a big fan of Japanese love dramas and the lovey dovey feel of the great outdoors during sunset. This picnic series, complete with deliciously colorful cupcakes, reflects their softer side of romance. In contrast, the first part of Ken + Lisa’s Engagement Series is every boy’s fantasy, action packed with weapons, attitude and suspense.

Helena + Yun :: Wedding (Edmonton, AB) Part III of III

There is something about the moment a bride looks at her goom and sees the emotion glistening in his eyes…. Helena was hoping that her groom, who never shows emotion, would be so moved that a tear would escape.Â Now, Yun is reminded everyday that everyone seemed to shed a tear during the reception but him.

This teddy bear is called Yun bear… Doesn’t it look like Yun???

The speeches were a trip down memory lane and highlighted how similiar Helena and Yun are in some ways; both are quite clumsy (albeit Helena just boston creamed a car, Yun rear-ended one….).Â The MCs, Albert and Serina kept everyone laughing with help from the happy couples siblings, who recounted anecdotes much to guests’ amusement. Boys take note- if your girl says she likes a guy in a turtleneck and leather jacket, wear a turtleneck & leather jacket even if it’s the hottest day of the summer.Â Yes, people will think you’re crazy, but more importantly, she says yes when you ask if she’ll spend the rest of her life with you.

It was the loving tribute given by Helena + Yun to their families that had everyone reaching for a tissue.

It was joy in celebrating a day in a beautiful love story that brought out the cigars.

Helena + Yun – Thank You for taking great care of us on your wedding day.Â It was fantastic to spend the day surrounded by the great people that are your family & friends.Â We have definitely made new friends after this & have enjoyed getting to know you two over the last few months.Â Thanks for trusting our vision and creativity.

We are all clumsy people!
