Karen + Sam :: An Urban Affair (Seattle, WA, USA) – Part II of III
A gorgeous girl (doesn’t Karen look a bit like Catherine Zeta-Jones with the long luscious hair?), a dashing man…. Urban luxury begins with a bride and her groom’s wallet. No man has ever looked so happy being ‘mugged.’ After all, Karen’s already stolen Sam’s heart! What’s a wallet after that ;)? The rain took us indoors for this creative photoshoot, where Karen was so close to getting an unexpected wedding gift… a Burberry bag courtesy of Cyrus, one of the groom’s men. Cyrus was asked to go to the Burberry shop and ask for a shopping bag to use as a prop for the photo shoot. Lost in translation? Cyrus happily offered to pay a $1000 deposit for the use of a Burberry bag for the photo shoot. Needless to say, the shop declined and the bridal party laughed, telling us that was sooooooo Cyrus.
But really, what suits a girl more than Tiffany blue?
On top of the world in each other’s arms. Life in Seattle may carry on as usual, but for Karen & Sam, life pauses for a moment to steal a kiss.Part III is just a little bit of Rock ‘n Roll… stay tuned!

Karen + Sam :: A Song For You (Seattle, WA, USA) – Part I of III
” I will be here
And you can cry on my shoulder
When the mirror tells us we’re older
I will hold you
And I will be here
To watch you grow in beauty
And tell you all the things you are to me
I will be here”
~ I Will be Here, Steve Curtis ChapmanThe air was cool, the rain a watery veil preventing the sun from shining through. 125 guests traveled from around the world not for the weather, but for love. Karen + Sam were blessed to have the people most important to them travel from all corners of the globe to be there with them in Seattle as they started their married life.  Surrounded by so much love and heartfelt wishes, it didn’t matter if the sun wasn’t going to shine.
When we first went to Seattle to shoot Karen + Sam’s engagement session we were blown away by their love and found not only a stunning couple but amazing friends as well. Being a part of their wedding, we felt as though we were shooting some of our oldest friends.
Karen had a luxurious morning celebrating friendship at the Westin Hotel, complete with room service! Her sisters and closest friends (who traveled from San Francisco, Washington, Boston, Vancouver and Zurich to be there) had their hair and make-up done with the glowing bride. They laughed about the bachelorette party in Vancouver and rehearsed a dance routine Karen had prepared (stay tuned for part III!) . After all, wearing 4-inch Christian Laboutin sling backs, replete with crystals, to dance requires a bit of rehearsal!
While Karen & the girls were spending the morning getting their hair and make up done, Sam and the guys (who came from Seattle & Toronto) goofed off. They had the time to as it took them 15 minutes to get ready. Sometimes, it’s just too easy being a boy! Or maybe it just takes less time to get ready when you’re not gossiping…. They even had a nice meal at Joey’s before the ceremony.
The bright colour palette and brilliant floral arrangements gave this North West wedding a tropical feel. A shout out to the awesome Erin Lindeman Weddings www.lindemanweddings.com for planning this gorgeous day!
Every guest seemed moved by the ceremony; from tears of joy to tears of laughter. Karen’s bridesmaids couldn’t keep a dry eye as Sam, acoustic guitar in hand, serenaded his new wife with “I Will be Here” by Steven Curtis Chapman.Your Igloo friends from the North,
