Memoirs :: Infused Studios’ Visual Journal

    Hey All,

After 9 action packed days at WPPI, Rina and I decided to chillax by spending some quality time together and walking The Strip. 18 of the world’s largest 25 hotels are located on this street in Las Vegas and it’s certainly changed since the last time my parents brought me here back in the days of Circus Circus.

Haha being photographers and all, we thought we’d blend in with the tourists and whip out our cameras to snap a few shots of the night scene. Despite the glamour in the photos, a local taxi driver told us that business is dire compared to last year as the global recession is hitting them hard. We noticed it at the McClellan Las Vegas Airport as traffic seems to have died down.  Good for us as we can walk the Strip a lot faster this time around!  =)

Love my Canon EF-S 10-22mm lens!! (Rina’s already giving me the “L” on her forehead). It’s by far my favourite lens to use in Las Vegas because of the sheer scale of everything. Can’t wait to be back home and share our trip with our family and friends!

    Ciao peeps!

  • Cynthia + Ryan :: Fun Fair (Edmonton, AB)

Cynthia + Ryan first met in elementary but it wasn’t a sandbox romance.  It was 12 years later, when they were playing a murder mystery game at a friend’s house that Cynthia was given the task to find someone to marry her and asked Ryan.  Neither thought anything and it was later, when they discovered they had a shared love of gaming, rather than a playful ‘marry me’ that sparked their love story.  To celebrate their love of games, we started their engagement shoot on the midway for some real-life gaming.

We kept the Ferris Wheel to the end as it was definitely looking like it was a 1920s relic.  Rina was meant to go on the ride with Cynthia + Ryan but begged off deciding that motion sickness didn’t really go with taking engagement pictures.  Anthony was quick to jump on the ride in her stead and given how Ryan was furiously shaking the basket so it almost flipped (poor Cynthia!), definitely a good thing it wasn’t Rina!Edmonton Wedding Photography

Fish in the pond stayed true to its marketing and was Ryan’s way to win his girl a prize.  The heat of the day meant that the Japanese fan came in handy, more so than the dice & finger trap ;).

Edmonton Wedding PhotographyFrom midway to mid-campus, we went from a shared love of gaming to Ryan’s love of books and architecture and Cynthia’s love of supernatural love (i.e. Twilight) as our inspiration.  It was a great opportunity to laugh & run around, or in Ryan’s case, running away from the spiders (there were a LOT of bugs out that day!).

The evening light filtering through the clouds was perfect.  We wrapped up a day of romantic fun playing by the water :).

Cynthia + Ryan, it was great spending the day with you!  Looking forward to shooting your big day at the end of July.  In the meantime, have fun playing World of Warcraft and Starcraft. :O)

    Love. You. Always.

  • Denise + David :: Splash (Maui, Hawaii) Part III of III

Denise + David’s adventurous personalities inspired us to spend not just a day, but two, challenging not just our creativity but also our physicality!  Keeping up with these two was ace on day 1 (after a night of celebration, we took a roadtrip to Hana to this secluded blacksand beach) but day 2 we were all running around (in the rainforests of Honolua Bay).  To celebrate Denise + David’s love of waterfalls, cliff jumping and scuba diving (they can both free dive over 2 minutes under water!), we splashed out and dove in.

We jumped on the beaches of Punta Cana but it was nothing compared to Denise + David jumping off a cliff!  And they looked amazing doing it.

Which leads us to an Infused Studios first!!  Denise + David not only hold their breath for over 2 minutes, they can also kiss under water ;)  Ladies & gents, our first underwater love story.

The next day, before heading off to the airport, we enjoyed sunrise in a little bit of Ireland … in Maui.  The rolling green hills and soft morning light made us think of Ireland and with Denise + David running through the grass and having fun, it was hard not feel we’d all found a bit of magic.  We even had some Europeans come by to congratulate the newlyweds and enquire how married life was going – the gentleman asked “Was the sex good last night?”  David truly is incredibly clever, while we all stood there with blank, shocked faces, he replied “Yes! How’s yours?”  We barely contained our laughter until the couple were out of ear shot!

From the fields we headed over to the woods and, despite the bugs eating us alive and the free roaming roosters and chickens’ calls echoing around us, we enjoyed the mango-scented air and soft light filtering through the trees.  Denise worked her beautiful dress and was model-extraordinaire much to David’s delight as he hollered and cheered her on.

What a perfect setting to end a perfect sun-kissed week.  Shifty + Sneaky (we will leave that story for you lovebirds to tell your family and friends!), we just wanted to say, from the bottom of our heart’s a BIG THANKS for making us feel so welcomed and for treating us like family while we where in Maui.  It means a lot to us.

    Love you guys,
