Memoirs :: Infused Studios’ Visual Journal

    Hey All,

After 9 action packed days at WPPI, Rina and I decided to chillax by spending some quality time together and walking The Strip. 18 of the world’s largest 25 hotels are located on this street in Las Vegas and it’s certainly changed since the last time my parents brought me here back in the days of Circus Circus.

Haha being photographers and all, we thought we’d blend in with the tourists and whip out our cameras to snap a few shots of the night scene. Despite the glamour in the photos, a local taxi driver told us that business is dire compared to last year as the global recession is hitting them hard. We noticed it at the McClellan Las Vegas Airport as traffic seems to have died down.  Good for us as we can walk the Strip a lot faster this time around!  =)

Love my Canon EF-S 10-22mm lens!! (Rina’s already giving me the “L” on her forehead). It’s by far my favourite lens to use in Las Vegas because of the sheer scale of everything. Can’t wait to be back home and share our trip with our family and friends!

    Ciao peeps!

  • Lan + Troy :: Love (Mayan Riviera, Mexico) Part III of III

“Life is too short to live alone
Without someone to call my own
I will care for you, you will care for me
    Our love will live forever”

~ Shower me with your love, Surface

We love having the time and opportunity to do a Creative session with our couples.  It gives us a chance to tell their love story in a new light and the gorgeous red Mexican sunset was quite the light!  It was Lan + Troy’s dream to have photos taken during a Mexican sunset and the weather seemed uncooperative with overcast skies and occassional showers throughout the day.  Newlywed magic worked like a charm and we had about 20 minutes where the clouds parted.  Lan + Troy were fantastic, from their tender embraces to flirty fun in the surf with a bit of trash the dress thrown in.  The heat meant that we shot the creatives the day after the wedding, which gave us a fantastic opportunity to capture Lan + Troy’s first day as husband and wife.  If the rest of your marriage is even a fraction of the love and fun that you two had during this shoot, it’s going to be one amazing marriage.

P.S. When those grandkids Lan’s dad is looking forward to arrive, we’d be honoured to do a maternity shoot with you guys!

    Your dear friends,

    ~Anton + Rina

This shot was nail biting for us!  The tide was rushing towards us and while we were afraid our equipment would be soaked or Rina would be swept off with the waves (thank goodness she was holding the flash, at least she’d be easy to find!) it was worth it to have Lan + Troy in the spotlight against the beautiful sky.

Another favorite was this completely unscripted image – truly a picture perfect sunset to ride off into.  The amber moon reflects off the now calm waves and the tender embrace directly below the moon draws the eye to the couple.

  • Lan + Troy :: Celebrate (Mayan Riviera, Mexico) Part II of III

You may now kiss the bride…

And let the celebrations begin!  Guests raised (more than) a glass to toast Mr and Mrs Phan and wish them luck in their marriage.  While in Mexico, the tipple of choice – Tequila! Shot glasses of Tequila boom-boom (a mixture of tequila, grenadine and soda) were passed around and the proud Father of the Bride was excited to be celebrating his daughter’s marriage.  Although… he may have had an ulterior motive in celebrating, he mentioned a number of times that he’s looking forward to grandkids!

First dance as husband and wife.

Vietnamese wedding games had every couple (except us!) taking part.  Lan + Troy had a blast while guests cheered them on.  Troy clearly trusted his new wife and family as he let them blindfold him … no butts about it….

The party didn’t stop once the games were done.  Everyone (no exceptions!) took to the dance floor and Infused Studios added to the atmosphere by using flashes as disco lights.

  • Lan + Troy :: A Mexican Marriage (Mayan Riviera, Mexico) – Part I of III

Sundrenched days for lovers to toil away the hours swimming amongst the fish in crystal clear blue water or lounging by the pool with a fresh margarita in hand.  Palm trees dotted along the beach providing shelter from the sun’s harsh rays and a momentary respite from the heat.  An idyllic setting for Lan & Troy, who tied the knot during an intimate ceremony on the white sand beaches of the Mayan Riviera, Mexico in front of 35 of their closest family and friends.  If any one of them had told Lan when she was in High School that one day she would be walking down the aisle marrying the man of her dreams, her ultimate “soul-mate” and it would be Troy, disbelief wouldn’t be a strong enough emotion to describe her reaction.  Back then, Lan couldn’t stand Troy and giving him the time of day, let alone her hand in marriage, was a bit too much to ask.  Thankfully, that was High School.  Now, their handwritten vows spoke volumes of how much love is shared between them.

Edmonton wedding photographerEdmonton wedding photographersEdmonton wedding photographyThis was our first destination wedding and the sunshine provided a welcome change from the chilly and unpredictable weather of spring in Edmonton.   The gorgeous scenery, vibrant guests and a reception comparable to a Mexican Fiesta were fantastic to be a part of.  Part One of Lan & Troy’s romantic day looks at their last moments as two individuals and the venue that would welcome them as husband & wife.  Troy looked dashing in his suit, the tones of grey were totally in harmony with a beach wedding.  Even his hair was just right.

It’s near impossible for a bride not to look like a princess on her wedding day.  For Lan, the beauty was more than the tumbling curls piled atop her head with glimmers of crystals peeking out, the make up, the tiara and the veil.

Gorgeous as all that was, it was the smile of anticipation and sheer joy as she looked out her window that made her glow.

Troy was adamant that he wouldn’t shed a tear at the wedding.  But as the music started and Lan emerged from the arbour accompanied by her parents, the reality of marrying the girl of his dreams brought tears to his eyes.
